Turtle Rescue Again!

Stay tuned for further information as we may be able to look for turtles again on April 22nd.

This will be the last day that volunteers will be able to search for turtles in the bridge/road construction area along the ICC and press coverage will be expected!

If you helped out last time, or are now interested, be sure to mention it in our next meeting on Thursday!

Also, as a reminder, this week we are holding bake sales after school to raise money for a charity. If you signed up to bring food or stay after school, don’t forget to leave 7th period 10 minutes early!

Montgomery College’s Biotechnology Program

Interested in pursuing a career in biotechnology or bioscience? You need not look further than our local Montgomery College!

The course offered seeks to prepare new students with the necessary skills for acquiring a job in the biotech field.

Johns Hopkins University Summer Program

If you are interest in computer forensics or just want to get involved in a fun course during this summer, you may want to take a look at the Digital Forensics Summer Program offered by Johns Hopkins University and the Carey Business School.

If you’re looking for science related internships, the following may interest you:

MCPS Science Internships: this webpage is updated often with new opportunities as they arise. Currently, information about the UMBI-MCPS Student Internship Program is up, so check it out if you’re interested. Hurry though, the deadline for applications is February 1, 2010!

NIST SHIP: The National Institute of Science and Technology is hosting a summer program for high school students who have a strong background in science including chemistry, physics and computer science.

JHU Engineering Innovation: The John Hopkins University in Montgomery County is offering a four-week summer program with activities including mousetrap and spaghetti bridge building! Students with a passing grade also receive John Hopkins University credit for the course.

1. Med-Immune field trip is this Friday, from 2:45-5:00pm.
-We still need volunteers to carpool, otherwise we are either taking the bus or walking afterschool.

2. Bake Sale

-Donation of bake-goods need to be dropped off at Mr. Canet’s room before school.

-If you are going to help sell, meet in Mr. Canet’s room @ 2PM to set up at main lobby.
-Don’t forget, the bakesale proceeds will go to our club T-shirts.
